I work on custom paintings from photos of any subject matter including people, animals (dogs, birds, etc.), landscapes and tropical settings. Paintings are either on canvas or illustration board. Sizes vary from 18” x 24” and up. Available styles include realism, impressionism, and abstract. My favorite subject matter is tropical landscapes.
"Oasis"

Kaneohe Bay, HI
Painting of Kaneohe Bay. 3'x4' Acrylic on canvas. This client was very interested in working with me to design her painting. She provided me with many photos and even climbed a water tower on top of a mountain to get the perfect shot. |

"The Edge of Manoa"
2'x3', acrylic on canvas. This painting is inspired by one of my many hikes led by my brother. As soon as I stepped into this landscape I knew I would have to do a painting. Fortunately, I almost always have my camera with me to capture great material. Hawaii is forever inspirational. |

2'X3' Sepia tone wash. This is part of a series of sepia tone washes of some of the areas in Hawaii that have the old tropical feel of untouched landscapes. Using this style really compliments these areas. |

2’ x 4’. Closeup of large Anthurium leaves. I love the way the light comes through this plant and shows the beautiful oranges and yellows of these amazing leaves. |

Kahala Home Show
3'x3' sepia tone orchid. The interior designer was interested in the subtle qualities of an orchid. I used sepia glazes to create an old photo look but included brush strokes and small hints of green and orange glazes to keep a painterly quality to the piece. |
Hawaii Kai, HI Sepia tone wash portraits "Beauty marks in Hawaii Kai" 18"x24", illustration board. Colored ink. The client moved from the Bay area to Hawaii Kai. I took many photos of the boys exiting the pool until I got this shot. The title refers to both boys having beauty marks on their face and neck. |

Sepia tone wash 8.5"X12" This piece was created for a former president of a magnet school in Akron, Ohio. This is a portrait of her second grandson. I was fortunate enough to paint her first grandson a few years ago. |
Kailua, HI "Tara and Alpine" 3'x4', canvas. Acrylic. The client's friends surprised her with a portrait of her and her dog. I included a canoe in the background to remind her of her paddling days. |
"Maddy"
2'x3' Acrylic on canvas. I was commissioned to paint Maddy on the north shore beach while her owner was on duty in Iraq. This is a large painting of a very small dog with a big personality. Fortunately I was presented with lots of photos to capture her likeness. |

"Hapa and Koa on Lanikai Beach"
Acrylic on canvas 2'x3'. The Clients are avid body board surfers and often take their "Boys" with them to the beach. They presented me with many great photos to work from so it was easy to paint a true likeness of them. |

18" x 24". The clients Aumakua (spirit guide) is a Hawaiian sea turtle and she wanted it depicted with her beloved pet, who passed away after winning many awards. |
"Choco"
2’ x 3’. The client was interested in showing Choco’s regal personality. It was really fun to work with Choco, and he made a really great impression, especially on the side of my canvas which he chewed on while I was taking photos of him. |
